1975 CROWN PRISON BUS  Have you ever wanted to own a piece of ‘rolling’ history? This authentic 1975 Crown Security Coach Bus was used to transfer criminals back in the 70’s and and early 80’s in California’s Los Angeles County area from jailhouses to Terminal Island (now a medical facility). Not only does this bus run as good as it looks, it is literally stepping back into the history of 70’s mobsters, the criminally insane, mass murderers, robbers and molesters. One can only imagine the amount of LA County prison guards and police officers that also made the grim journey each day. This bus is literally in the same condition as when used back then. The inscriptions and carvings in the pictures shown are not doctored or ever added after the fact. It is rumored that one of the inscriptions, ‘CHARLES,’ is from Charles Manson himself- the location of this inscription being on the wall of the “criminally Insane’ closed off ‘booth’. A recent MSNBC documentary called “Will You Kill for Me, ‘Charles Manson and his Followers”, shows the bus multiple times. Along with the bus being in this particular documentary, this Bus has been in many movies and TV Shows such as Helter Skelter (1976), National Security (2003), LA Law (1986-1994), CHIPS (1977-1983), Executive Target (1997) to name a few. This Bus is one of approximately 50 made and said to be the last one left as a full ‘maximum security prison on wheels’. The bus literally has three different chambers or cell blocks- a death row cage, a criminally insane cage and the general population area. It also has a sheriffs jump seat and a weapons locker. Needless to say this is a one time chance to own some very unique transportation history.
