This bus is a 2001 International Amtran, 28ft FE, the perfect mid-size bus. It has only 165k miles with a powerful DT466E motor that is normally used for 40 ft buses. The transmission was replaced at 140k miles with an Allison MT643. I have all mechanical maintenance invoices including engine diagnostics, brake work, and tie rod ends, battery, and oil changes in a google file I can share with you.The engine and brakes work great! NO RUST as this bus is originally from Texas. Tires are fair, will need replacing once the renovation is finished. It is currently in storage in Santa Clarita, California. I drove this bus myself from Colorado to California and I had zero issues during my trek – it was pretty awesome, and I’ve taken it to Yosemite a couple of times. Unfortunately, I am not skilled enough to finish this bus, and have spent so much money and can not finish it. I am so sad to see this bus go.
I love this bus so much and wish I could finish it. This bus was going to be my primary residence, so I didn’t skimp with any of the materials. It has been gutted, insulated with spray foam, plywood floors installed, 8 RV windows have been cut, 6 new RV windows have been installed, the rest are included and ready to be installed(12 Brand New RV Windows Total), a brand new Dwarf 4K wood burning stove has been installed, and there is a wood closet installed. I have all brand new materials already purchased including solar, appliances, floors, ceiling, sinks, shower tile, RV toilet, tanks, water heater, 6000W inverter and battery. It will need some TLC, needs auto electrical, plumbing, solar (materials already purchased). The bus is already primed and has Tropicool on the exterior roof.
I have lists of all purchased materials with receipts. The materials just need to be installed!
I have put so much money into this bus, but I don’t have the skills to finish it. With the bus purchase, supplies, and mechanical repairs, I have put over $32,000 into it.
It is currently registered in VT as a motorhome with a CLEAN TITLE. You can transfer title in VT as you don’t have to be a resident to register there.
Local Pick-Up. Will consider bus delivery for a fee.
