2009 Bluebird All American Skoolie — THIS IS A TRUE 1-OF-1 BUILD WITH NO EXPENSE SPARED.
This bus started life in 2009 as a Blue Bird All American registered to the National Guard. The National Guard used it to transport troops while on drill and performed extreme everyday maintenance on this rig as well. We purchased the bus in July 2020 with 44,000 original miles. Picked up in Joplin and drive it back to Stillwater, OK where the massive conversion began.
We started by carefully cutting the roof loose to add on 20″ of head room front to back. This was done by professionals inside a fabrication shop, all windows were fitted and checked for leaks. We removed all the factory seats, air systems, in line heaters and all 12v wiring inside that would no longer be needed. At this point we wire wheeled and applied poly to the floors and new roof.
Next we began wiring the bus with 110v to operate like a house. We installed 2 low profile HVAC units on the roof as well as King In-Motion Satellite. I think we have 6-7 active tvs all wired back with home run co-ax drops for simplicity. Plenty of outlet and switches throughout as well as USB charing ports. $10,000 in Kicker Stereo is retrofitted front to back. Several marine grade head units with, marine grade amps and subs. True size stainless appliances are included. Nice walk in tile shower with teak wood floors.
All the furniture is hand made mexican leather and doubles down to turn into sleeper sofas. Tons of granite and brick accents inside.
Hand made cabinets, ship lap ceiling and matching his/hers closets in the master bedroom.
Train horn mounted underneath and hooked to the air system, its loUd. TONS of extras on this build like a 5′ party porch built off the back, hidden compartments all along the exterior for storage, exterior tv and grill for tailgating, actuator arms to lift the side compartments.
Entire bus is covered in LED lights inside and out. Garmin RV navigation is hardwire as well as bluetooth cameras. Anyone in my family can drive this thing, its easy. Bowling alley lanes cut and shaped to fit throughout as the base flooring system
Pics tell alot about the build, but we truly did this with the heartfull inention of keeping it forever. Given that, we tried to not cut any corners. The motor and transmission have been completely serviced and even recently had the emissions deleted while unlocking 6th gear. This thing runs 70mph with little to no effort. We have over 200 build pics and videos of the process but Ebay only has room for 24 photos. If you thinking about building one, dont..just buy this one. Its even got a $3500 Purple Mattress in the master bedroom.
